=============
|I. Overview|
=============

The title "WWF WrestleMania Steel Cage Challenge" might imply that this game
might pose a challenge, but that would be an overstatement. This can be a fun
game, but offers not much of a challenge. Hey, what can you expect from an
NES game? It does offer a great sense of nostalgia taking you back to the
glory days of the WWF. These guys were real wrestlers, far superior to those
wrestling today. The following offers incite to all aspects of the game, I
have left no stone unturned. Hopefully, my hard work will provide you with
some valuable information that will aid you on your way to claiming the WWF
Championship Title.

|V. Strategies|
===============

|+|+|WWF Championship Mode/One on One|+|+|
For the most part, you should have no trouble mowing through the computer
opponents. The same simple strategy can be used for every wrestler. At the
start of a match, use the basic punch and kick attacks to lower the opponent's
strength bar a few notches. By doing so, you will gain an advantage over the
opponent, because the wrestler with the most strength will win while
grappling. Once you have lowered your opponent's strength a few notches,
begin to grapple by walking into your opponent. Now, repeatedly press the A
button to head butt your opponent. By repeatedly pressing A in a grapple, you
will prevent your opponent from executing any grapple moves. Repeat this
process until you have totally depleted your opponent's strength bar. At this
point, your opponent's strength bar will replenish to approximately 2/3 its
original length. Now, it's up to you, go ahead and use whatever moves you
feel necessary. Once you have depleted the strength bar for a second time, go
ahead and pin your opponent for an easy 3-count. If for some strange reason
your opponent is beating you, just use the repeatedly pressed A button
strategy as listed above.

|+|+|Cage Matches|+|+|
In the WWF Championship mode, your third, sixth and ninth matches will be cage
matches. Just use the same strategy that is used for a regular match. A good
move to use in cage matches is the Irish Whip; press a directional button, A,
and B while grappling to send your opponent crashing into the cage. In order
to win a cage match, you have to climb to the top. Simply walk into one of
the cage walls and hold that direction to climb to the top of the cage.

|+|+|10-Count|+|+|
Another strategy that can make for a quick match is getting your opponent
counted out. Simply leave the ring to lure your opponent out. Then, use
whatever moves you want to subdue him. Just make sure to get back in the ring
before the count reaches 10.

|+|+|Tag Team Matches|+|+|
The strategy stays the same for this mode, no surprise. To make it a quick
fight, try to keep your opponent from tagging in their partner by repeatedly
grappling with him. If you have to, walk to your partner and press A to tag
him in. Just try to keep your strongest wrestler in the ring at all times.

===================
|VI. The Wrestlers|
===================

The following wrestlers are those that appear in the game, listed in order of
appearance in the WWF Championship Mode. For flavor, I've added a little
background on how the wrestlers were back then. Most wrestlers don't pose
much of a threat and are easily defeated, but I've added some notes on a few
of the wrestlers' strategies that may help you in defeating them.

The Mountie
6'2", 245 lbs.
The Canadian from the Great White North was a fine technical wrestler and
enforcer who was heard to say, "Do things the way I say they ought to be done
or pay the price of painful and humiliating defeat." Not in this game. The
Mountie should pose no threat in your run for the title.

"The Million-Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
6'2", 238 lbs.
This greed machine would use bribery to try and get whatever he wanted; he
once tried to buy the WWF Championship Belt. After putting his opponents in
"Million-Dollar Dream", he would stuff money in their mouth and exit the ring.
You don't have to worry about him stuffing anything, he's another easy foe to
defeat that needs no special strategy.

Irwin R. Schyster, "I.R.S."
6'2", 235 lbs.
A very solid scientific wrestler, "I.R.S." always toted a briefcase to the
ring, wearing a suit and suspenders. He and DiBiase made up "The Million-
Dollar Corporation" for a brief stint. Tax evasion won't get you into any
trouble this time, because "I.R.S." will be easily defeated.

Bret "Hitman" Hart
6', 232 lbs.
"The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be."
Bret is one of the better wrestlers in the game, he possesses good speed and
can do some damage if you're not careful. Watch out for his dropkick, it's a
move he likes to use. When he runs for the ropes, simply step out of his path
to avoid the dropkick.

Sid Justice
6'9", 318 lbs.
This freakishly big guy has a frightening stare and one of the best physiques
in wrestling. He's one of the stronger wrestlers in the game; don't let him
get an advantage over you. If he does, he will most likely throw you to the
mat repeatedly, which can cause some serious damage.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage
6'2", 245 lbs.
"Pomp and Circumstance" never sounded so good. "Macho Man" is a master of the
aerial arts, particularly that flying elbow he uses for a finisher. If he
heads for the turnbuckle, you best be getting up and moving out of the way
quickly.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper
6'1", 242 lbs.
Never has a man in a kilt been more intimidating. This Scottish native is
possibly one of the best brawlers in the business; he does more fighting
outside the wring as he does inside of it. One of his favorite attacks in the
game is the flying tackle, so be sure to get out of his path if he begins to
run for the ropes.

The Undertaker
6'10 1/2", 328 lbs.
Every match was a casket match with The Undertaker, he would take his victims
and place them in a casket and drag them away. His manager, Paul Bearer, was
creepy, too, always making faces and carrying that urn. The Undertaker
shouldn't present much of a problem. By now, you should have a good grasp on
the game strategies and defeat him with no trouble.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts
6'5", 249 lbs.
"Never trust a snake," he always said. That statement was pretty accurate, he
would much rather sneak-attack someone that face them in a fair fight.
Nonetheless, his roughneck style was effective. After a devastating DDT, he'd
leave his snake with the victim. Jake's favorite move in the game is an Irish
Whip/flying tackle combo, so try to avoid giving him any advantage.

Hulk Hogan
6'8", 303 lbs.
Hulkamania is running wild! Quite possibly the greatest wrestler to ever
grace the ring with his presence, the immortal Hulk Hogan is the kind of
wrestler who comes along once in a lifetime. His huge "pythons" overpowered
many a foe. Hogan is the best grappler in the game; he may be the one
executing the slams even if you have an advantage over him. To overcome this,
press the A button repeatedly when grappling.

=======================
|VII. Cheats and Codes|
=======================

-Regain Energy
During a match, hold select to regain some energy. This may only be done once
a match.

As far as I know, there are no Pro Action Replay or Game Genie Codes for this
game. I searched far and wide and found nothing, so if you have any codes or
cheats, be sure to contact me.

==================
|VIII. Conclusion|
==================

Well, I hope you will actually be able to use some of this. It may seem like
a lot of information for a simple wrestling game, but I did my best to reveal
information from every aspect of the game. I have thoroughly tested all of
the information listed in this FAQ, but there's always room for error. If you
find an error or feel I've left something important out, feel free to e-mail
me; my contact information is listed in the "Author Info" section below.
